November 2009
Walutomat becomes the first peer-to-peer currency platform. A new market of Polish e-commerce is born – online currency exchange.
April 2010
Internetowykantor.pl starts its operations, becoming the first website in Poland that offers transactions based on the currency exchange model. Customers are able to buy currencies using exchange rates that are more favourable than the ones available through the banks and traditional exchange bureaus.
August 2011
Due to the introduction of the “anti-spread law”, Polish people may pay off their currency loans in a much cheaper way, by purchasing currencies on Walutomat or Internetowykantor.pl instead of using the exchange rates offered by their bank – the creditor.
January 2011
2011 marks a significant year of intensive growth for both our websites. The number of banks that agree to free-of-charge and express transactions with us systematically increases, as well as the range of currencies we offer. New functions are implemented in order to make our websites even easier to use. Internetowykantor.pl wins its first nominations and awards.
December 2011
Both our websites double the number of registered users. The year ends with an increase of nearly 300% in total transactions compared to 2010.
September 2012
Internetowykantor.pl introduces a new version of the customer panel. The panel is built using our customers’ feedback, addressing their suggestions to make our product even better.
December 2012
Internetowykantor.pl continues to develop rapidly and expand the number of its staff. For this reason, the firm converts to a joint-stock company and moves its registered office to a new modern office block. The Szyperska Office is located in the centre of Poznań.
November 2012
Walutomat celebrates its third anniversary. The transactions so far have reached 5 billion PLN, and our users have saved as much as 140 million PLN by exchanging currencies online.
July 2013
Internetowykantor.pl registers its 100,000th customer. The website becomes a founding member of the Chamber of E-Commerce in Poland – an initiative that embraces the biggest brands of Polish e-commerce.
June 2013
According to a report by the Internet portal Kurencja.com, Walutomat reaches a leading position among online exchange bureaus and platforms that offer the most favourable terms of online currency exchange.
September 2013
Internetowykantor.pl and Walutomat.pl combine forces, resulting in the establishment of the biggest company dealing in online currency exchange in Poland.
November 2013
The founders of Internetowykantor.pl are awarded the prestigious title of Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young (EY). The award is part of a new business category.
January 2014
Our platforms close the year with very good results. Internetowykantor.pl reports an 80% increase in the number of users and transactions when compared to the previous year, while Walutomat reports a 50% increase. The estimated transactional value in 2013 reaches 8.2 billion PLN.
April 2014
Internetowykantor.pl starts accepting money transfers from foreign banks in the Euro Zone.
March 2014
Internetowykantor.pl launches its first TV campaign. Its main themes are savings and dreams.
April 2014
Opineo.pl sites Internetowykantor.pl and Walutomat.pl as the best online exchange platforms according to a new ranking. Opineo.pl is the largest portal for consumers’ opinions in Poland.
May 2014
Currency One SA wins the ‘Poznan Enterprise Leader’ contest in the small business category, a competition organized by Poznań City Hall and the Poznań District Office (Starostwo Powiatowe).
August 2014
Walutomat.pl introduces a new version of its website. New functions and usability improvements are implemented in cooperation with our users. Changes are also applied to the logo.
September 2014
‘Currencies like moves’ – is the title of the new online campaign launched by Walutomat. Its main character is a cute border collie named Kursor.
September 2014
We set a new record in the online currency exchange market. In the three summer months our clients exchanged more than 2.7 billion PLN.
October 2014
Our two platforms set the monthly record in online currency exchange. For the first time in the history we close October exchanging over 1 billion PLN. This result is later passed in December 2014.

Currency One SA wins the prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast 50 CE 2014, ranking the fastest-growing technology companies in Central Europe. We are ranked in the 10th position in the Rising Stars category.
December 2014
Our users exchange around 10.4 billion PLN in 2014. The estimated number of transactions increases by one-third, when compared to the previous year. 164,000 users of Internetowykantor.pl exchange 4.2 billion PLN and 132,000 users of Walutomat.pl exchange 6.2 billion PLN.
April 2015
We welcome the 100th employee to the Currency One team.
January 2015
Valutomat.cz becomes the newest brand introduced by Currency One and is a natural evolution of the group’s already wildly successful currency exchange platforms – internetowykantor.pl and walutomat.pl. In order to cater to the new market we open a new office in Prague.
July 2015
Currency-One is granted a Payment Institution license by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF). Under Article 13 of the Payment Services Directive (PSD) the register of Currency One as a Payment Institution will be made publicly available in all EU Member States within 30 days.

Implementation of SMS Verification Codes relates to clients of Internetowykantor.pl. The new service improves the security of transactions taking place on our platform.
